From its 1994 London/Brooklyn inception, Marque’s drumming and live performances with DRUM-FM literally pioneered the musical sub-genre phenomenon now known as Live DRUM'n'BASS -aka- Live DnB! He remains an icon of independent Underground Music in the UK, Europe and beyond, heavily influenced and supported by his early years in New York City as a founder member of the infamous Black Rock Coalition
 

Gilmore’s primary work over the past 35+ years connects ancient musical traditions, modern music and music-technology in both performance and production...otherwise known as: “Science-Friction-Drum-and-Space”. This work continues with commissioned performance-lectures, multimedia art installation projects, filmmaking, VR-design and interactive-theatre disciplines. Marque has been honored to have worked with several legends and icons of Jazz, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Dance, Classical, Indian and African Music from Sting to Joe Zawinul to Oumou Sangare to Afrobeat Legend Tony Allen to Living Color's Vernon Reid to Meshell Ndegeocello to Katia Labeque to Talvin Singh to Robert Miles to M1 of DeadPrez to Brian Jackson of Gil Scott-Heron fame and many, many more ~ including x2 Grammy & Latin Grammy nominations for his innovative production work with Cuban pianist Omar Sosa
 

Currently producing several new remixes utilising his specialized “Live ReMiX” production and preparing the 2023 CD and vinyl releases of his ReMiX work with NYC’s famed Burnt Sugar The Arkestra Chamber following from special concerts at NYC's legendary CARNEGIE HALL and LINCOLN CENTER in 2022; as well as continuing touring and recording work with the critically acclaimed double-CD and live event 20-artist strong project:
BLACK LIVES FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION (nominated for the Deutscher Jazzpreis Band of The Year International). 2023 will continue with more new music releases and sonic-gems from the archives, as well as new future-bound arts and cultural work dedicated and focused on Human Rights and Climate Justice.
